These terms apply to your use of the Strawberry Cottage Retreats website and any booking made with us. By using this website or booking a retreat, private session, or stay, you agree to these terms.

Bookings

  • A deposit is required to secure your place on a retreat weekend or private session. The remaining balance is due[number of days to be confirmed] before your scheduled date.
  • Group retreat weekends are limited to a maximum of four guests per weekend.
  • We reserve the right to decline or reschedule a booking at our discretion, including for safety reasons.

Cancellations and refunds

  • You may cancel your booking up to[number of days to be confirmed] before your scheduled weekend or session for a full refund of your deposit.
  • Cancellations made within[number of days to be confirmed] of your scheduled date may not be eligible for a refund, at our discretion.
  • If we need to cancel or reschedule a retreat weekend (for example, due to insufficient numbers or unforeseen circumstances), you'll be offered a full refund or the option to rebook.

During your retreat or session

  • Participation in any specific activity, herbal offering, or practice is always optional. You're free to opt out of anything at any time without needing to explain why.
  • You're free to leave a retreat weekend early if you choose to. Refunds for early departure are not guaranteed and are considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • You are responsible for disclosing any relevant health information that may affect your safety during your stay. See our Disclaimer below for more detail.

Website use

  • The content on this website is provided for general information purposes. It does not constitute medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice.
  • You agree not to use this website in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it, or interfere with anyone else's use of it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, Strawberry Cottage Retreats is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or participation in a retreat, session, or stay. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under New Zealand law, including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.

Not medical treatment

Strawberry Cottage Retreats offers wellness-focused experiences, including herbal support, breathwork, and guided nature-based activities. Nothing offered here is a substitute for medical treatment, psychiatric care, therapy, or professional health advice.

If you are currently under the care of a doctor, psychiatrist, therapist, or other health professional, please speak with them before booking a retreat, session, or stay with us — particularly if you take any prescribed medication, as some herbs may interact with certain medications.

Legal status of herbs and practices

All herbs, plants, and practices used at Strawberry Cottage Retreats are legal within New Zealand at the time of publishing. We do not offer or facilitate access to any controlled or illegal substances under New Zealand law.

Assumption of risk

Retreat weekends and private sessions may involve physical activity (including outdoor activity, breathwork, and movement) and the use of herbal preparations. By booking with us, you acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for disclosing any health conditions, allergies, medications, or concerns that may be relevant to your safety, prior to your session or retreat
  • Participation in any activity or herbal offering is always optional, and you may decline or stop at any time
  • You participate at your own discretion and take responsibility for decisions about your own health and wellbeing

No guarantee of outcomes

Every person's experience is different. We do not guarantee any specific emotional, psychological, or physical outcome from a retreat weekend, private session, or the 7-Step Method guide.

Our retreat weekends and private sessions are intended for adults only. Strawberry Cottage Retreats currently works with men only.
